Rubavu

Rubavu is a waterfront town on the shores of Lake Kivu, with red sandy beaches, warm clean water and an easygoing tropical character.

Once known as Gisenyi, Rubavu faces the Congolese city of Goma across the lake and offers kayaking, boat trips, beach relaxation and sunset dining along the waterfront.

The town is the perfect lakeside finale after gorilla trekking in nearby Volcanoes National Park - just a short drive from Musanze through terraced hills.
